Mena Alexandra Suvari, born on February 13, 1979, in America is an actress as well as a fashion designer and model. She started her modeling career in 1990. She soon shifted into acting following guest appearances on television series such as Boy Meets World or High Incident. She debuted in film with the drama Nowhere, released in 1997. Her roles were in American Beauty, for which she was awarded the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie led to her being the subject of more interest. In 2000, she appeared with her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the lead role in Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun was a 2002 independent drama film and Trauma (2004) thrillers were also prominent in her work. Also, she appeared on drama series on HBO Six Feet Under in 2004 she was nominated as the Best Cast of the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari was a part in a series of movies which included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has appeared in many blog and fashion publications as well as Vogue. She is a Lancome model as well as appearing in ads in print for Lancome Paris Adaptive. She has supported and been an advocate of the African Medical and Research Foundation for a number of years.
